Hello and welcome to my shop. Before we take the tour, let me tell you something about myself. My name is Robert Snyder, most people call me Bob. I love everything about golf. I love to play golf, I love to watch golf on TV, I love to read golf instruction books, I love golf movies, and I always want to learn how to be a better golfer.
During a round of golf at Riviera Golf Club, Ormond Beach Florida, I was talking to another golfer that told me he had attended a golf club repair school in Newark, Ohio. He claimed that he cut several strokes off his game after attending the school because a lot of the instruction covered golf club dynamics and what happens when the golf club hits the ball.
This is what I like to think of as the technical section of my shop. This is where I keep my scales, loft/lie gauge, frequency machine, spine alignment equipment, and different types of rulers and measuring equipment.
In the picture to the left, I'm using a Maltby Golf Club Scale and checking the swing weight of a driver that has a CT 250 head.
Here' I'm checking the weight of a KE4 Tour 7 iron head
I'm checking the length of the shaft in this photo. I want to make sure the sole of the head is in the correct position against the scale's end plate to get a proper measurement.
This is my Maltby Laser Frequency Analyzer. I use this to frequency sort shafts and then frequency match the shafts that I install in a set of irons. Before I take frequency measurements, I will spine the shaft. My goal is to build a set of irons that has consistent feel and workability.
Now we are in the area where the work takes place.
This is my gripping station. I'm installing a Golf Pride DD2 midsize grip for a customer.
In this photo, I'm turning the ferrule down so it will be flush with the hosel and have a nice finished look.
A customer came into the shop and needed the lie adjusted on his irons. I'm checking the lie with a Maltby Gauge. I take reading on this gauge and then move to the club bending machine.
The bending machine is a Maltby Premium Golf Club Bending Machine. This is a great machine and very versatile. I make a bend, check the lie with the gauge on the machine and make additional adjustments if needed.
I've made a bend and now I'm checking the lie to determine if I bent it enough with the gauge mounted on the machine.
I hope you enjoyed the tour. I'm sure you recognized that the equipment used to design and build custom fit golf clubs is of the highest quality. Snyder's Golf Club Repair and Design is a small family owned business that emphasizes quality in its products.
